Bottom of the Barrel: Antigone


In 2010, 8 American girls were given the name Antigone.

Let us hope that they all have happier lives than the various Antigones of Greek mythology and literature.

  2. No, no, no! Antigone is a WONDERFUL, inspiring name! Okay, she was the daughter of incest, and a bit on the intense, maudlin side (she'd have been a Goth-girl today, no question), but she was incredibly noble and brave, and prepared to die rather than bow to tyranny. Personally, I love it.
