Bottom of the Barrel: England

In 2010, 7 American girls were given the name England.

With London still trending robustly upward and Ireland in the top 1,000, perhaps England was inevitable.

And yes, there were also 7 girls named Scotland.

  1. Is it just me, or do England and Scotland not like women's names? To me, they sound very masculine. Well actually they just don't sound like names for people at all, but if they had to be, then they sound like men's names.

  2. I won't deny I feel a sense of pride in my country, but using England is still a little to 'bold' for me.

  3. My best friend's 10-year-old cousin is a girl named Scottie. Just Scottie.
